TDCJ Eastland Release Path
An Eastland County jail record may state that a person was released to TDCJ. That event is a transfer from county to state custody. It is not a community release. After state intake, the person can be confined in a TDCJ-operated or contracted unit outside the county. The receiving unit can change later, so use the current statewide system rather than guessing a nearby prison.
A later TDCJ departure may be parole, mandatory supervision, discharge at sentence completion, or another transfer. Parole is discretionary community release for the remaining sentence. Mandatory supervision is a separate statutory form tied to eligibility, credits, and Board review. Discharge ends the sentence. The exact event and date come from completed state records, not from a county transfer notation.

Search Current TDCJ Eastland Custody
The TDCJ Online Inmate Search is a current-custody check. TDCJ expressly limits it to people now incarcerated in a TDCJ facility. Search by exact last name with at least a first initial, a seven-digit TDCJ number, or a State Identification number. Gender and race can narrow the results. Open the detail and compare the county of conviction, offense, identifying numbers, and age information.
The data updates on working days and is at least 24 hours old. A match is strong evidence of current TDCJ confinement at the system's stated time. No match is not proof of release. Intake may not be posted, names or numbers may differ, the person may be held by another sovereign, or the person may have left TDCJ. The online system normally stops returning a person after release.
- Use TDCJ or SID number when available; otherwise search the exact name.
- Compare several identifiers before accepting a match.
- Record the listed unit, status fields, and update warning.
- If no result appears, use inmate information by email or telephone.
- For historical proof, request release papers and the completed release event.
Obtain TDCJ Eastland Release Papers
Texas Government Code section 501.016 makes release papers especially useful. When a person is entitled to discharge, parole, mandatory supervision, or conditional pardon, those papers can state the name, offenses, sentence date and length, sentencing county, actual calendar time, earned good-conduct time, and total time served. Ask as well for the actual release date, legal type, releasing unit, supervision office, and any transfer destination.
Start with TDCJ inmate information. The email route can provide a TDCJ number, location, conviction offense, prior incarceration history, current offense and court details, and projected release date. Send full name and TDCJ number, or exact birth date or approximate age plus Eastland County as the conviction county. This free information channel may not supply the full historical transaction.

TDCJ Eastland Release Dates
Several state dates answer different questions. Parole eligibility is the first point at which review may occur. It is not approval. A projected release date is TDCJ Classification and Records' estimate if parole does not happen sooner. A scheduled release date can follow favorable action and an audit. The actual date is the completed custody event. None should be substituted for another.
After a favorable Board vote, Classification and Records audits the release certificate and calculates a scheduled date and location. TDCJ's ombudsman describes processing commonly taking 14 to 21 business days after receipt of the certificate. Even then, the date can change without notice, including that day, due to a detainer, program, residence plan, credit correction, or new record.
Good-conduct time under Government Code Chapter 498 affects parole or mandatory-supervision eligibility and does not erase the judicial sentence. Chapter 508 has different formulas and exclusions based on offense and date. Texas has no universal “serve 85 percent” rule. Do not use a simple calculator. Request the agency's current calculation and consult the judgment and governing statute.

Verify TDCJ Eastland Supervision
Eastland County is assigned to the Abilene District Parole Office in Region V. That office handles people released from TDCJ to parole or mandatory supervision in the county. It does not operate a jail, and supervision is not incarceration. Contact it to distinguish active supervision, discharge, a transfer of supervision, or a violation matter within public-information limits.
Texas IVSS is the state event and notification layer for TDCJ incarceration, parole, mandatory supervision, Board actions, release, and discharge. Search the TDCJ IVSS portal by name, SID, or TDCJ number and compare the result carefully. A saved IVSS notice supports the event reported by its contributing agency. The release papers remain stronger proof of the legal type and actual date.
For pre-vote review status, call the Board of Pardons and Paroles at 844-512-0461. After a favorable vote, call Review and Release Processing at 512-406-5202. These lines do not handle Eastland County probation, which comes from a local court and CSCD.
Match Eastland TDCJ Court Records
The sentencing judgment explains the offense, term, county, jail credit, and legal authority. Eastland felony and district records belong with the 91st District Clerk at 100 W. Main, Suite 206, Eastland, 254-629-2664. The court file may clarify a sentence, revocation, cumulation, credit, or later order. Yet it may not show the exact physical departure from TDCJ.
Use a three-source check when the dates matter: TDCJ release papers for the event, Board or court material for authority, and IVSS or the Abilene office for supervision status. If a county record only shows transfer to TDCJ, it proves the county leg and nothing about the later state departure. TDCJ Eastland System Boundaries
No physical TDCJ prison or state jail was identified inside Eastland County. This page describes the statewide system serving people sentenced from Eastland, not a local facility. A destination unit belongs to the named person's transfer history. Verify it through the current detail or records response rather than treating one institution as the county's prison.
TDCJ does not cover federal imprisonment, ICE detention, county probation, or a local jail release. BOP has its own locator and FOIA route. ICE has a current detainee locator and ERO path.
